Romeo Dallaire

Tonight there was a tv-program about the Canadian General, Romeo Dallaire, and his visit to Rwanda, on the 10 year anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda.

The show was completely mind-blowing, the ignorance of the rest of the world during that time towards the situation there and the images of people being slaughtered are stuck in my mind now. These images join older ones I still haven't gotten over. I remember seeing images of children's heads on sticks in the streets of Rwanda on the news when I was sixteen years old. I cried then, and I cry now.
