Bambi 2
We just came home from a family outing to the movies. We went to see "Bambi 2", and I have to say that we were all very impressed with it. It's beautifully done and works wonderfully with the first movie.
In the middle of the film there was a 15 minute break, as there always is in the movietheatres here in Iceland. This intermission is mainly ment for toilet-trips and trips to shop more candies and popcorn, the theatres here make a lot of money on these breaks because Icelanders have become so used to them.
Garpur, who's not used to this custom of breaking a movie in half, didn't quite understand why the movie was stopped all of a sudden, the lights were turned on and every one stood up from there seets, but yet the movie was NOT over!
And since Már and I had brought a packet of fresh string-peas for a family snack, we didn't desire anything from the shop and remained seated with Garpur.
Garpur turned to me and asked "Mom, why is everybody leaving, is the movie over, where is everyone going?" ... Not wanting to cast too much attention to the fact that most people were standing up to buy themselves candies other goodies, my answear was: "Now they have a break for those who want to stand up and stretch their legs or have to use the toilet".
Garpur stared at me with amazement for a while and then said: "Wow, they must have many toilets?"
